Priority No. 1

Someone asked me now that u have got a decent job wats ur PRIORITY NO. 1?

Well it is "To find a GIRL FRIEND".

Well then people ask me "why u need a GF". Well now that I am on the verge of completing my education n I have got a decent job, the only thing missing in life is a girlfriend. N ofcourse I want to get married n live a happy life n for that I need a girlfriend. Well ofcourse I want someone with whom I can talk for hours, and keep messanging her whole night, and go for a stroll after dinner everyday........................................................................... She should be the only thing running in my mind 24/7. I don't really care if people think that I am crazy, that anyways I am. And she should feel a bit of all this.
People have been saying U will definately get a girl, a far better girl. As u r such a nice goodie goodie guy, but hey first of all looks r deceptive n everyone has his limitations. Anyways I have spent 24 years of my life without that someone, now every single day adds to those 24 years.

Well I have had plenty of crushes n whenever it happens life become beautiful, it seems- she is the perfect girl, She's everything I have ever wanted, she's the one for whom I have been waiting whole my life, but somehow I will screw things up n even if the girl is interested, things will reach a dead end. Infact more then me finding a girl, a girl should find me. Well the probability of this happening is really remote, but I am a patient man.
Someone told me "Sabr ka phal meetha hoota hai"(Patience bears fruit). Hey, I am waiting, with lots of sabr (patience).
A day will come when I will say yeap "She is my girl".
Hey watchout gals I am on the hunt, or maybe I want to be hunted down.

The biggest day of my life- The placement story!

Today was the biggest day of my life till date, I got placed in Infosys Technologies. Someone had asked me yesterday that whether I will be sitting for Infy or not, to which I replied-"Well I have put in my resume now lets see whether they short list it or not". Then he told me all the best n Hope tomorrow is ur day. Well it turned out to be my day.
A day before Infy came, whole day I was studying (That was the only day I studied for placements). I completed Ross in 6 hours flat. I think I havn't studied this much for any of the exams in BIM. Then read Gujju's(Himanshu) CBM notebook.
At 12.30 a.m. I went to Vasant's room to wish him on his b'day. There three of us ie me, Vasant and Vasanth started discussing about the Basel 2 norms, then our summer projects n finally both of them had to tolerate my cribbing about Infy not taking non-engineers last year, infact I cribbed a lot about that. Anyways went back to my room at 4.30 in the morning to catch with some sleep. At 8 am my roomie Chitappa woke me up, I told him hey they wont shortlist my resume as I am not an engineer so let me sleep; but some how he got the better of me n I had to get up.
Went to the MHD for the PPT, after the PPT they asked for the resumes for shortlisting. N I came back to my room to catch up with my sleep. As I was about to lie down, Nishad called up n told me that my resume has been shortlisted. Then I hurriedly shaved, took bath n went back to the MHD.
Well if I say I was nervous before the interview, it wont be wrong. I was jumping all over the place, but a few words of encouragement from Kavitha, did wonders. Well I went inside n the interview was great, the guys from Infy were really amazing. Well if before the interview I was jumping then after the interview I was flying.
Well the first to be selected was Aparna and then 20 of us followed her into Infy. When YLK sir told about "the boy who cleared the hurdle at the last moment", people around me knew that it was me, but even then I wanted to hear my name.
Well it was kinda dream for me, infact not even in, my sweetest of dreams, even day dreams I had thought of getting into Infy. Well it took me a few days to come to terms with it.
Well I would like to thank a few people from the bottom of my heart- Vasant, Vasanth, Kavitha, Nishad, Himanshu, Sai, Sri Vidya, Adhikari, YLK sir, Sankar sir n infact everyone in BIM.

B'day in the Bus n train, inbetween Pune....

This was surely the craziest way in which I have ever celebrated my B'day. Due to some unforseen events, I along with Kankarson had to leave Ahmadabad, the day after we reached there. There were no seats available in all the train originating from Ahmadababd towards south, so we had to go to Mumbai by bus n then from there catch a train to Salem.
Well at 12 I was in the bus somewhere in Gujrat. Got calls from a few people on the cellphone as AIRCEL has roaming facillity in Gujrat, but the moment we entered Maharastra there was no coverage.
We reached Mumbai at 10 am, then I made a plan to go to Pune n meet some of my old school n college friends. Mr. Kankarson gave his luggage to me n left for INOX to watch some movie, Somehow I reached pune at 3 pm.
After reaching Pune, I had 3 hrs in my hand as Kankarson would be coming from Mumbai in the train at 6.30 pm. One of my friend came n picked me at the station, from then on it was a mad rush, as non of my friends could come at a common place 'cas of some work. But all of them wanted to meet me, so then I optimized my travel plan n covered some 45 kms meeting 6 of my friends at 6 different places. I also went to the temple in between which is on a hill, went up n came down in flat 7 mins, some kinda record. Well had to cut a lot of pastries 'cas cake couldnt be arranged. Somehow manged to reach the station JIT.
Well it was fun, a mad rush, did something different, infact somehow managed to make my B'day beautiful, which otherwise would have been a dull affair. Special thanks to Abhishek n Kunal for making my day great. After coming back to BIM, the guys celeberated my B'day in the traditional manner of BIM.

Trip to the mecca of Indian B schools

This was one trip which the five of us had been waiting for, esp. our Gujju. As we won the third prize in the IIMA Confluence's, Mousetrap event so we were going for an all expences paid trip to IIMA. Well the journey was long and after lots of confusion 4 of us left Trichy without Kankarson, we had to spend one full day in Bangalore, 'cas of the train timings. Inbetween Kankarson decided he will also come, but somehow he wasnt able to reach Bangalore on time, so he missed the train.
The journey was fun, 4 of us kept playing Uno, people travelling with us became curious n joined us in the game. We reached Ahmadabad n then we went to Gandhinagar, to meet Gujju's parents. There we eat lots of Dhokla n many many things. But Kankarson somehow even after missing the train reached Ahmedabad by bus, he looked tired.

DAY 1 in IIMA
We left Gujju's house in the afternoon n reached IIMA just before the event started. The IIMA guys had assigned a Buddy to all the teams, our buddy was Divya. We asked her as to is it necessary for us to were formals, she told us u can were anything but today being the inaguration pls avoid wearing shorts (All of were shocked, "Shorts are allowed for an event of such magnitude"). They took us for a dinner to FUN REPUBLIC, all the doms were assigned a few teams whom they had to take for dinner. These people were really caring n they didnt show that they had any 'horns'. Well I will say they are really down to earth. After dinner we saw a movie n then went to the CC.
DAY 2
The four of us got up late as usual except Siddhartha, so we missed the first session. We got to know that this time the summer placement in IIMA has been the best in its history. We met a guy who got his summers in JP Morgan n was sad, WHY!!!!!! 'cas he had to do his summers in Mumbai.

IIMA is a class apart, well it definately gets n also selects the best brains in India. The relative grading scheme makes the guys to study hard, if something like that would have been in BIM what would have happened!!!! Also they have only 4 hours of classes everyday n weekends r holidays.
28 hrs in IIMA
My stay in IIMA was cut short 'cas of some happenings (reason- most of u know). But these 28 hrs in IIMA were great.

The IIMA event 'Mousetrap'

One fine day our Gujju (Himanshu) decided that we need to participate in B-School events, so we all joined him. Well we participated in a few events, but nothing of this magnitude happened, before the IIMA Confluence. The game in which we participated was a Business strategy game named 'Mousetrap'. Ours was a team of five (Gujju, Dhirubhai, Budhe(Amar), Kankarson n me). There was a volleyball tornamnent going on in the campus n the timing of the matches were same as the event timings.
DAY 1
The net 'as usual' was not working in the hostel. So we shifted our base to the NNAC. Then we were not able to log into the website, we thought that the IIMA website was not able to take the load, as had been the case in an earlier event organised by IIMA. Hence, we all were doing some time pass, but Gujju was very determined to play the game. He motivated us by saying that 'Guys I want to go home so we need to do really well in this game', as by doing well in the game we could go n participate in Confluence. So we also decided that we want to go to Gujju's home.
Later on we learnt that the webpage would work only on IE6, n no computer in NNAC was having IE6, some trouble, but somehow Dhirubhai recalled that he knew the admin password of one computer, then we downloaded IE6 on that comp. By the time we logged in, we had already lost some 2 hours out of the 4 hours alloted. But somehow we read the documents and had a 'very heated discussion about which industry to choose'. But we surely missed Budhe, as he had a volleyball match. Without him any discussion is meaningless, thats because of the passion he generates in his arguements.
DAY 2
On the second, me n Dhirubhai had class till 9.30 pm, courtesy DMSC. So before we came the entire decision was done by Budhe, Gujju n Kankarson.
DAY 3
Well we were really surprised to see our rank, we were 3rd among more then 350 national n international teams. Great going, we were suddenly on cloud 9. Today the entire team was there, so we had a really heated argument about everything ranging from how much to price to hom much to produce, ad spending n every damn thing. Finally Budhe suggested price cut but me n Dhirubhai bombed his idea by our arguments.
DAY 4
Since on day 3 we didnt heed to elderly advice abt 'price cut', so we had to pay the price, we slipped 31 ranks to land at 36th position, with more then half our goods unsold. So we played sensibly, the first priority was to get rid of excess inventory, we decided to produced less n also cut our price. One shd have been there to know how much bargain we did to cut even 10 bugs. Later on we had to diversify in another industry, n as expected the discusion was amazing. Just the 5 of us shouting in the CC at the top of our voices, others must have thought that we were fighting, but thats the way we discuss.
Without Kankorson's comic relief, no day used to end, but this was something really amazing, after playing the game for 4 days, our dear friend asked. 'Hey what is this Coco, do they want us to sell Coca Cola'. All of us were shocked as it was the hypothetical currency with which we were playing, n after being there for 4 days how can anyone ask such a question. Anyways thats Kankarson's core competency.
DAY 5
Well we were again back to Rank 5, as we were in DAY 3. That day we had to produce goods for two industry, but now our Gujju wanted to play safe. He said guys I desperately want to go home, even if we dont produce a single unit we will be among the top 50 teams n thus qualify. But we wanted to play, so we did everything from price calculation to how much to produce n advertise. Finally it was time to price our goods, our sole objective was to sell all the goods, one shd have been there to see how the Gujju, Budhe, Dhirubhai n me, were doing 'MANDVALI' ie bargaining in marathi, for even 1 coco. Finally we finished it n we knew that we r definately going to Gujju's place.
RESULTS
On the day of results we were watching a movie 'The Village', suddenly Mr. Kankarson came n told us with a very sorry face that our Rank is 49 n we have somehow qualified. We were shocked, but were happy that we qualified. Then he himself couldnt control himself n started laughing n told us that we were Ranked 6 overall n 3rd among non-IIMA teams, we also won a handsome prize money though we were confused how much we won Rs. 15k or Rs. 7.5K.
It was really great to be a part of such a wonderful team.

My Girlfriend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The moment I landed in BIM from Delhi, people started asking me that "U never told us about ur girlfriend". I was shocked n surprised!!!!! Well I myself never knew that I had a girl friend, n people here have even seen her pic. Surprising!!!!! Even I wanted to know who this girl is.
I ran back to check the groups mail n then I realised that it was my good friend Mr. Kankarson's work, it seems he wanted people to see his exploits in Mumbai/Pune, so he used my name, as he met a good old friend of mine he took a pic of hers n made her my girl friend. Well I dont mind it, n anyways I have had a cruch on every 3rd girl I have met n she is also one among them.

The Delhi Trip

This was one trip which I had never planned, usuallyI am a meticulous planner n I plan everything. Hey but who so ever had planned it for me did a wonderful thing.
It was a trip for the placement presentation to the companies, which is an annual ritual followed by every B-school in India. Seven of us (Appy, Manish, Sandeep, Manit, Pallavi, Rahul n me) started together the day exams got over. Well that day I was on a 'high' courtesy Brahma, so after blabbering a bit, kept quiet.
While going we had major fun courtesy, Manish, Manit n Sandeep n we had some good food courtesy, Appy. These ppl made major fun of everyone esp me. On landing in Delhi I twisted my ankle n was barely able to walk. But thanks to Sandeep, was able to walk properly the very next day. The next five days were really hectic, we used to cover some 100 kms daily n god knows how many companies. By the end of each day we used to be damn tired, but some how used to meet at Ansal plaza n have some fun.
Well I had a great time in Delhi, as I stayed in Sandeep's house so we were lucky to have some really good food, courtesy Sandeep's mom n sister. Well I will never forget the kinda food n stay we had at his home.
On 1st of October we celeberated Aparna's birthday, we gave her some kinda surprise. The major planning was done n executed by Sandeep n Dipti. My contribution being, getting up early n ofcourse selecting the card.

On 2nd we left Delhi, for the return journey there were only 4 people. But still we had fun n we came back to BIM singing throughout the way..........
It was a wonderful trip n we really worked hard n enjoyed. For me I got to know n learn a few things, seems like falling again. Special Thanks to whosoever planned this trip for me.

Back to BIM

Hey its nice to be back in the college after 8 weeks of Summer Project or Summer training or whatever one calls..... also went home after some 10 months so had fun. Well I worked like a mad man during the summers but enjoyed a lot, mostly on Sundays with friends. Hey the most important lesson learnt was - "Enjoy the next one year in college to the maximum, 'cas these days r never gonna come back again."

Well my summers was a great learning experience. Nice to be back in my BIM. Now its time for thanks giving party. In the freshers party we did a play on the typical life of a guy n a gal in BIM. It was planned n executed in 3 hrs flat n was one of the best plays, that day.

Eat a lot, slept, met old friends n ofcourse spent a lot of time with the greatest person I know- my mom, can write a book abt it but right now am really happy to be back.

Vaazgha Chennai

This is the last time I am posting from Chennai. I will be leaving Chennai tomorrow. Hope everyone’s summers went well.. we all will definitely have lots of stories to talk abt......

Abt My project.....

I will say that doing summers in TCS was an ENLIGHTING EXPERIENCE (In every sense)........ I learnt a lot but I also unlearnt a lot........... I won’t say that the summers were fun……. I have had to really slog it out..... But anyways I have come to know that I have only the nxt 10 months to really enjoy life...... After that things wont be the same again ever as I wont be in college....... Anyways the experience was ENLIGHTING in every sense......

Well if I say I have done a FIN+SYS project in TCS which also had Marketing in it, It wont be wrong... Everyday I had to travel 60 kms....

Well if I write abt my prj but dont write abt my guide it will be incomplete...

Well one day my guide saw me typing.... N She was shocked to see..........

My six rings......

Then she asked why I was wearing 6 rings ...... I said in remembrance of my 6 Girlfriends........ Since that day whenever she saw me talking to any girl she used to come running and inform the girl that "Beware this guy is already having 6 GFs......"...... but still I used to put a lot of mokkai with everyone......
Abt Chennai.....

Well I have lived in almost all the major cities in India; I can say that chennai is a pretty good place to be...

The cost of living here is not that high infact it is fairly cheap provided one doesnt goes for a shopping spear to Spencer’s or Ispahani every week, so ppl like me without stipend were able to manage...... The Local train service is also pretty good but BUSes... They are just damn @%$%^ too crowded.... well chennaites are a really helpful ppl,,,,,, Without knowing much of tamil, infact I know a few words only... I didnt had any problem in communicating, commuting n all.......

Abt my weekends.....

well for me only one saturday in chennai was holiday that too 'cas my brother had came... Infact on one sunday I had to lie to my friends who were waiting for me on beach that I am having a back ache so I cant come... sorry guys that day I had work....... the rest all sundays have been mine.... well we generally used to have 'boys party' on saturday night...... N after that we used to go to Satyams to watch some movie( whichever ticket we used to get )......

Abt Weather.....

well chennai is definately not the coolest place but it is definitely much cooler then the part of India from which I come esp during this time of the year where the mercury is showing 45-50 degree C,....... more over chennai has got very pleasant evenings... The wonderful sea breeze.......

Well I would like to thank everyone in chennai, my colleagues in TCS(for their support n the last weekends party), n esp chennai for giving me such a great experience.....

Well special thanks too Sai (half of my weekends, I have stayed at his place.......), Vasant, Rajes along with the 'Rajes effect', Nishad, Al gates, Subru, Venkat, well the entire BIM family and of course my Bhabhi......

Okie enough of my mokkai.... Tomorrow I am leaving to my home after a long long very long time...... I am happy I will get 10 days there....... See u all in the campus on the 6th of July.........

Lastly I would like to reiterate Andy "Madras nalla Madras" infact "Chennai nalla Chennai!"

The Great Dilemma

Well I feel I have put in too much of kevalamana mokkai… so now I will put some sakka mokkai,,,, As the title is The Great Dilemma”. Its not abt the student council, Its abt the dilemma of one of my good friend.

When my friend came to BIM he was a happy guy and had a Great ‘Spirit’. But suddenly in 2nd Trim he decided that he shd learn how to ride a bike. He picked up Mr. Z’s bike to learn. He started to love riding bikes n at the slightest opportunity he will take other ppls bikes n drive it. As it usually happens he felled in love with bikes n of course his first love was the bike on which he learnt driving (Z’s TVS Victor). Now as expected he started neglecting his ‘Spirit’. As a result his ‘Spirit’s’ condition became bad.
Now my friend had the sufficient reason to pick up a bike so he decided to take the plunge and buy a bike. As he was madly in love with TVS Victor he decided to buy it, but Zubu told him that Victor was a worthless investment. On some serious thinking he wanted to buy ‘Bajaj Wind 125’. Now the dilemma starts……

When asked why he wanted to buy a ‘Wind 125’ he said 100 cc was good as he was afraid of 150cc bikes…… But suddenly ‘Wind 125’ ran out of wind n the market also. Now my friend wanted the best ROI…. So he started exploring the market again, now things had changed, he no longer feared Power he wanted more POWER…. After some initial deliberation he short listed “Hondaaa Unicorn” and “Bajaj Pulsar”. So now it was ‘U vs P’…. But my frd decided to buy Unicorn and he went ahead and booked it, now he was happy n waiting for the D-day…….

But suddenly there was a twist in the story, one day after a ‘Boys Party’ with a fellow classmate who was the proud owner of a ‘Black P’ things changed. The owner of ‘P’ gave his bike key to my frd n asked him to try the bike. My frd was waiting for this opportunity (without knowing that this will be a big mistake), took up the keys n went huuuuuuuuu…

As expected he had fallen for the ‘P’. So the next day he went n cancelled the booking of ‘U’.

But now he started doing some primary Market Research listing the benefits n drawback of a ‘P’ and a ‘U’. Some of his findings were like the horn of ‘U’ is really bad it makes u feel that u r having the same ‘Spirit’ and also ‘U’ is a silent bike, so it doesn’t gives u the feeling of riding a bike…………….

But still my frd wasn’t sure what to do, his heart said ‘U’ but his mind said ‘P’. He then called up his good frd who like always was in the train. He told him go for a test ride n then decide, as he got an idea that it’s a conflict between mind n heart. "Any day u shd follow what ur heart says." So next day my frd informed everyone that he is buying a ‘U’…………

When asked why he decided to Buy a ‘U’ he said well it would have been another Pulsar on the road but now I will be proud owner of a Hondaaaaa….. After being quizzed again n again he told the real reason. “Do u know the meaning of a “Unicorn”, his ignorant frd didn’t knew. “A Unicorn is a single horned horse and has many advantages. It is used for the treatment of snake bites and is a power booster. But you know one thing a Unicorn can’t be tamed by any man, it can only be tamed by a …… women”. So now the real reason was out….. This coming Monday my frd is going to pick up his bike……………. So everyone Congratulate him and hey dear happy n safe riding……….. Now his dilemma is over so is this mail….. , lets see how much post purchase dissonance he faces………

I hope u all know whom I am talking abt… else see him in the campus on a “Black One horned Horse”.

The Great Adventure n some misadventure

I am having enough work to keep me occupied for 12 hrs a day 6 days a week thats TCS........... Anyways I get Sunday n I really enjoy it.....
Caution- It’s a long story so have patience……But a real adventurous story……….

This Sunday Sai, Nishad, Rajj n me met at Coffee Day at Ispahani Centre (Chennai) there we discussed abt The Alumni Meet.....n then went to see the Hotel Residency Towers n GRT Grand days..... Bla bla bla

After that we meet Al gates n wished him A Happy B'day.............

Later on we decided we all shd have a 'Boyz Party', well I donno what a 'Galz Party' is............. Anyone from Anu, Kuku, Gayu, Anto tell me as Astha Is not telling me................ (Remember the Party which these gals had on Kuku’s B’day). Thanks to Al gates we went to a decent place n then he left for Temple……

The Party Begins………. well Rajj became really high because of the "Ambience"….. There we had a discussion abt what we will give to our parents from our first salary… well all of us were planning to give something from our salary one year down the line except Nishad, as he is planning to give something from his Summers stipend……. that’s ITC……….. We also discussed that there r going to be only 24 gals in the 22nd Batch… N no one knows as to how many will turn up or already booked..…….. Anyways who is interested in Girls…

Then we decided to move to Satyams to see a movie, Night 10.15 show………… We were already having a cash crunch ‘cas of the Party….. so we decided to see the movie in the Rs. 10 seat we did a Head-Tail as to whether to see Hitch or Star Wars…. The coin decided Star Wars…. So we stood in the line for one n a half hrs, sweating n waiting for the counter to open….

In between Nishad n Sai went out n Rajj n me were only left in the queue… when the counter opened then we gotto know as to tickets will be given only to the one who is standing in the queue….. so we got 2 tickets……… No way on earth two of us were going to watch the movie leaving the other two,,,,,, So we all took out whatever we had from our purse n in all we had Rs 250… So we went n took the tickets for XXX 2 (Rs 50 each) the moment we took the tickets 4 guys came to us n said that they want to watch XXX 2 so give us the tickets n in return we will give u 4 Star wars (Rs70 each) ticket which we have got the balance amt u all pay us………….. But we had only 50 bugs with us so we Bargained n got the tickets exchanged by paying another 40 bugs that’s a profit of 40 bugs we got the tickets worth 280(70*4) for 240 bugs (50*4 + 40)…(Well that’s Bargaining).. They we went n sold the two Rs10 tickets for 30 bugs….. again a profit of 10 bugs……. Then finally we were into the theater Rajj n me had sweat like hell………… In fact we had a sweat bath in the process........
Once the movie started it was really fun…. Hey all fans of Star wars plz don’t get offended………. It’s all mokkai……We didnt understand anything wat was going on the screen.... but mokai was going to heights, as we started branding the tubelight fight(watever u call it... Saber)
4 of us were chatting like anything, ppl around started giving us a dirty stare.... had we went a little further... they would have chucked us out of the theatre..... thank got we reduced our mokai n volume....
We were wondering as to how these ppl were fighting with tube lights n all….. n the air traffic was really optimized….. as no traffic Jam, no red lights n no mid air collisions…. In fact at one point we felt we were obsessed by the 'red light' thing ………….so we stopped it….. Interval was really fun n I am looking forward for the movie ‘Aniyan’ as I was really impressed by its trailor,,,,..
hey RDX system is a gift to watch.... the colors on the screens r stunning n amazing... which cannot be expressed...one will have to experience it.... but the sound was a big let down... didnt meet up our expectations......

Well the ads in the Interval were really cool or shd I say Hot……. After the interval back to the movie same tubelight fight….. then when the movie was abt to end Nishad’s frd called him to ask when is he coming, the reply Nishad gave was really funny…. Well what to do man the movie is not getting over the moment it gets over I will come……….. Poor Guy watching the movie ‘cas of a coin (remember the Decision by toss)….. Finally the movie got over we all clapped but we were surprised when others were also clapping, we thought we were the only ‘Ignorant once’…………. Then I went to Sai house as I couldn’t go back to my place at 1 am…………. No bus no train and 30kms to travel ………….

Well in all this I would like to thank Rajj ‘cas without him our adventure wouldn’t have become a real adventure for his generous pocket n poor guy we made him poorer by a huge amount that day….

Anyways we had fun n Enjoyed a lot…I’m waiting for the Next Sunday

Thanks for reading my mokkai,,,,,,,

Life @ TCS (Thatha Click-Click Services)

Well first of all caution this is a huge one so have patience…..well “Those who don’t have patience in life are patients of life.” (Sakka Mokkai)

Well for me life in Chennai has been pretty hectic……….. everyday I travel for three hours in the train n bus ……. 45-50 mins in Train n another 25-30 mins in the bus One way…. Well I have been getting up at 6.30 so as to reach office by 9.30 am. Well in BIM I have never got up so early not even during exams……… So I leave my home at 8 am n reach back at around 10 pm (hectic Schedule naa)

Well now coming to the life in TCS…. For the first 3 days we had an “Induction program”(IP). In that we were told about the project in which we have to work. All this was happening in the TCS “Sankalp” (Determination) Conference Hall…. Everyday we used to come at 9.30 am and from that time we used to have round table conference till 6 pm, in between few employees used to come n give us Gyan about how life is in TCS n what all the project was about…….. Infact all of us gave our introduction some infinite times……………… But in most cases people were surprised to know that we were doing MBA 'cas they used to think as to what all we will do in this project………………. Then in that conference hall we all used to have heated debates …….

On the first day of the IP we were generally wetty n talking to each other, but we were generally getting to know abt the project….. At the end of the first day we were told that u all wont be that wetty from tomorrow so we were given documents to read that’s how we became busy………. Then on the second and third day same thing was done………….. on all the three days we used to come at 9.30 then had one session till 11…. Later we used to go for coffee from 11 to 11.30 then come back n have discussions till lunch… Lunch was scheduled from 1 to 2.. Then another session then Tea from 4 to 4.30 pm…… Then another gyan session n finally leave the office by 6………….

Now once our training was over on Monday (25th April) we were put into various components. As for me I have to add a new functionality to the existing product….. Well we have been told to read the project documents which run in GBs…….. I have been reading quite a lot, I was feeling a bit restless just reading those documents but then I was told as to these people over here had to read those docs for 3-4 weeks n I am lucky as I have to read it for 1 week only …………. Well the lunch in TCS is pretty good……………

My experiments with food………

Well since I have landed in Chennai I have done quite a few experiments with food. I will share my experience with u all……….

One day I went to Hotel Ananda Bhawan for lunch…. Their the waiter asked me what u want…. I said Meals…… Then he gave me three choices …. Special, Mini or Limit...... I opted for Special meals………….. Then I had the shock of my life as there were so many things which were there n so much quantity……… Well it wasn’t meant to be eaten by one person that’s what I can say……….. The next time when I went there I asked for Mini meals (thinking it will be mini) so as I don’t waste anything…. In that I was given with 4 varieties of Rice n chapatti n sambhar n all….. As expected I wasn’t able to eat them all…….. Finally I figured out what I had to eat n it was Limit meals…….. Well one thing I can say about Chennai is that Good food is pretty cheap n affordable…… N generally one can find good food to eat in all the places….. Courtesy the Sarvana Bhawans , Ananda Bhawans, Ayaar Bhawans etc……..

Then one day we all went to Spencer’s ie … Me, Sai, Sandy, Mayur, DJ, Senthil, Anu, Archana, Gayatri, Arthi,……… There we had a pretty nice dinner (pun intended) at an eatery called Prime Roaster………. At the end of it DJ paid the bill thru his Credit card with a very heavy heart.. We also played a sad song for him courtesy a ring tone ……… But guys never go there……………….

Well guys Life is pretty hectic re. Working on a life project really means one needs to work a lot. I am coming to the office even on Saturdays, n I need to meet quite a few very tight deadlines.

One year in a B-school

I will never forget the day I left my home for coming to BIM, it was a day before my parents 25th marriage anniversary. Anyways I was among the few early birds to land here, as most of the guys were comimg from nearby places, so they applied JIT. The first person I met here was our warden mam Mrs. Josephene, a really nice lady. Then I met a few crazy guys who came from Kolkotta, 'well guys from the nearest of places, from my home'. Well the autowala didnt had change so Mr. Hemant C paid him. Since that day Mr. C has became a bigger C. Kankarson was really a guy who seemed a 'class apart' , Anju well wat to say abt this little kid n Tau was another noticable personality.
The next day everyone was their in the campus, ie- the entire BIM21 was there. Immediately after the admission formalities got over, we were handed a DM case (Barbarian Ball Bearing) to analyse. Five of us Keema, Nishad, Abhi, Sandy n me sat together n analysed the case. Well it was fun, more then we analysing the case we were trying to know each other.
The first few weeks were really difficult, whole day class n then some assignments, we all were mostly short of sleep n I had never imagined life will be like this. Well MARWAR was something which was real fun, be it EZZEE or be it Eyebloom, I really enjoyed it n got to make some real good friends. My roomies were real fun, Chittapa the grand old guy, Tatha even older then him n Oli, well a real pain, but fun.
One day in the class Divya noticed my six rings n that day I got my first nick name 'Ringy', since then have got several nick names- Santhanam, Stud,....... Mid-term was the first time when we got some free time to interact with our batchmates. Anyways first trim was the only trimester in BIM when I studied, infact the only time when I used to think abt studies. My room used to be the head quarter of erstwhile OAP, where some 10-15 of us used to study. 'The quizzer' Tatha's exploits used to be amazing,- the scientist who came out of his bathroom shouting Eureka eureka- (guess who) Newton. To which Oli asks well how an apple can fall on the head inside the bathroom.
Second trim nothing much to write abt as I dont know much as to what happened, as I was mostly absent minded, didnt study at all, realised that u really need to make a great effort to flunk in a B-school. Anyways got some real good friends who cared n helped me a lot- Brahma, Himanshu, Amar, Kavitha, Sumasani, infact quite a few people in BIM whose little little contribution made a lot of difference.
Third trim I was back the same old Shantanu who was always playing, making fun n ofcourse not at all interested in academics, well I think it happened after 4 and a half years of some studious avtar. I used to play so much as if I had got placed n not my seniors. The cricket tournament was a great time, formed a wonderful team 'USB', we played for fun n esp. not to win.
Holi was one thing when we had some real good fun, I think we were the first batch in BIM to celebrate it. The open air theater was something really amazing n the TT, Badminton were a must.

Now it was time for us to say godbye to our seniors n I will never forget two of the best people I have met in my life- Varun n Angela. They had a great influence on me.
How time has flown I dont know, it seems it was only yesterday when we all came here, but I changed from a SYS+HR guy to a FIN+SYS guy.
Well lastly I would like to thank everyone in BIM, without their support n help I wouldnt have survived the 1st year. Lets have a great summers.
